Dried Hatch Pepper Ristras

Bring the bold flavors of the Southwest into your kitchen with Melissa’s edible Dried Hatch Pepper Ristra. This iconic symbol of New Mexico hospitality is handcrafted with sun-ripened Hatch peppers, renowned for their rich, smoky flavor.

Historically, ristras were essential for preserving peppers through the winter months. Today, they remain a beloved decoration and versatile culinary ingredient. To use, snip off the desired amount of peppers, remove stems and seeds, and then dry toast to awaken their full flavor potential. Grind or crush into a flavorful seasoning or rehydrate for salsas, soups, and marinades.

Melissa’s ristras are 18 inches long and completely edible—they are not coated in shellac. When stored in a dry area with little humidity out of direct sunlight, ristras can last for several years. To dust, mist with water and allow to air dry.
